Which Design for Which Occasion
Weddings and engagements
Rich colours that sit well against red-and-gold wedding decor. Crimson Lotus, Ornate Plum Floral, Peacock Paradise and Ornate Peacock Pavillion are the ones people reach for at a shaadi.
Diwali
Gold, ivory and warm neutrals for festival gifting. Ivory Arch, Kraft Lotus, Peach and Gold Paisley and Ivory Vine work for family, staff and neighbours alike.
Eid
Geometric and cool-toned for Eidi. Moroccan Trellis Brown, Blue Filigree and Mint Pichwai keep the pattern without the floral.
Birthdays, new babies and thank-yous
Lighter and less formal. Floral Arch, Sage Green Floral Cutout and Pastel Peacock Tiles suit the smaller occasions that come round all year.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a shagun envelope?
A shagun envelope, also called a shagun lifafa, is a decorative envelope used to give money as a gift at weddings, festivals and family celebrations. By tradition the amount usually ends in one, such as ₹101, ₹501 or ₹1,101, because the extra rupee is considered auspicious and keeps the gift from being a round, closed number.
How many will I need?
One pack of 10 covers a family Diwali or a year of birthdays. A wedding where you are giving to the couple, the siblings, the helpers and the household staff usually runs to 50 or more. Most people underestimate, so it is worth adding a pack.
Can I mix designs in one order?
Yes. Bulk pricing is based on the total number of packs, not on how many of each design you choose. Plenty of people pick different envelopes for different sides of the family.
Can I write on them?
Every design leaves space on the front or back for a name or a short line. The card takes pen without bleeding.
When should I order for a festival or wedding?
Allow at least two weeks. Orders dispatch within 2 to 4 business days, but courier networks slow down in the run-up to Diwali and through peak wedding season. For a large bulk order, get in touch earlier and we will confirm the timeline.
Do you take corporate or event orders?
Yes. We take bulk orders for businesses, events, schools and gifting. Write to us at hello@theprintlane.com or through the contact page and tell us the quantity and the date you need them by.
